Attorney Michael Parks’ primary motivation is improving the lives of others. His pursuit of this ambition began as an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina, where he was active in student government and served as student body president.
Michael received his bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance, and risk management at the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business. Following graduation, Michael served as special assistant to Gov. Henry McMaster before enrolling in law school.
While earning his JD at the University of South Carolina School of Law, Michael served as president of the Student Bar Association, law clerk in the governor’s office and the White House Counsel’s Office, and as an intern for the Hon. Dennis W. Shedd on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Michael was also a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court and was awarded the John R. Holland Scholarship.
Following graduation, Michael served as a law clerk to the Hon. Terry L. Wooten, Senior U.S. District Judge for the District of South Carolina. As a law clerk, Michael managed both the criminal and civil dockets, handling a wide range of issues for the court including criminal, civil, employment, social security, and habeas matters.
Licensed to practice in all courts in South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Michael’s experience in leadership roles uniquely positions him to serve the clients of the Samuels Reynolds Law Firm. When he’s not working, Michael enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, and cheering on the Gamecocks.
