Grant Richards believes the practice of law is about serving others and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. From his early career advocating for crime victims as a prosecutor to his representation of injured workers, Grant understands the importance of standing up for those who need someone in their corner.
Representing people who have suffered workplace injuries of any kind, Grant helps them navigate the workers’ compensation system and fight for the medical treatment and benefits that they deserve.
Grant earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before entering the University of South Carolina School of Law at just 19 years old. He graduated from law school and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2022, at the age of 22.
Following law school, Grant worked as an Assistant Solicitor in Lancaster County, where he prosecuted criminal cases. As a prosecutor, he worked closely with law enforcement and crime victims, gaining valuable courtroom and trial experience.
Before joining the Samuels Reynolds Law Firm, Grant represented employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases throughout South Carolina. His experience on the defense side gave him valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims, knowledge that he now uses to help injured workers.
Grant is actively involved in the South Carolina Bar and its Young Lawyers Division. He previously served as Chair of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Committee, which provides free tax preparation assistance to low-income individuals. He now serves as Chair of the Long- Range Planning Committee, helping develop a vision for the Young Lawyers Division’s future. In 2024, Grant was recognized as the Young Lawyers Division’s Star of the Quarter for his service to the legal profession.
Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, and raised in Lexington, South Carolina, outside of work Grant enjoys cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks and West Virginia Mountaineers and spending time with family and friends.
